Barbecue and Auction Background
In 2000, our Rotary Club launched a fundraiser to support the many local community projects we sponsor or participate in. This year it continues on bigger and better than ever. On September 29th, 2007 we are holding our 8th Annual Barbecue and Auction. We are seeking your participation in the following ways: 1) donations for our live and silent auctions and raffle; 2) advertise at, or sponsor our event; and/or 3) attend our event.
The Orangevale Rotary club is comprised of 49 dynamic community members who have been recognized by our district as an outstanding club. Every year we send high school juniors to a leadership camp, award college scholarships to students who perform community service and achieve high academic standards, sponsor an Interact Club (at Casa Roble High School) and host exchange students. We sponsor a literacy program at Green Oaks Elementary school for students who are in danger of not passing on to the next grade. Interact students and fellow Rotarians tutor the students.
Additionally, we support Boy Scouts and Girl Scout troops and sponsor speech, photo and essay contests for our junior high and high school students. We work in the local community by performing smoke detector checks at trailer parks and adopt local families in the need during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The funds raised at this event will support the above-mentioned programs. Other programs include educational programs at the Orangevale Library, painting USA maps on elementary schools play grounds, Casa Roble Sober Grad Night, Inner Wheels Charity and Children’s Myoelectric Limb Bank for Children who have lost limbs.
Tickets are available for $35 per person or $350 for a table of 10. We also have wonderful sponsorship packages available that can help target your organization to over 400 highly successful individuals in our community.
